What do boobies and Snapchat filters have in common? More than you think – and Keep A Breast Foundation and That Snap Life have teamed up to give us all a reason to love boobies even more.
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month. For many of us, it is also the month we stress over something clever to be for Halloween. So what if we told you that going #nofilter this Halloween actually supports healthy boobies? #TWOBIRDS
Keep A Breast Foundation (KAB) empowers young people around the world with breast health education and support. Since 2005, they’ve demonstrated a new nonprofit model, one that assumes that today’s young people are articulate, critical, and ready to establish their identities through meaningful action. Using art at their core to support and create conversation, KAB empowers, engages, and inspires young people to be their own health advocates.
Since their inception, KAB‘s “i love boobies!” movement has initiated dialogue among youth about breast cancer and has proven to be a doorway to the first step of prevention. Staying true to their mantra that art has the power to heal and impact, KAB has spearheaded unique movements from breast casting to launching a Check Yourself! app to educate and engage people about breast cancer prevention and early detection.
Collaborating with That Snap Life is now another way the two companies are using creativity to inspire social action. Annoyed with the slutty cat, slutty policewoman, and slutty firefighter costume options, That Snap Life launched an online platform making and selling Snapchat-inspired filters that people can wear IRL (in real life). Started by two socially conscious girlfriends, it was only natural for the company to incorporate its use of creativity to catalyze change.
By purposefully processing their online credit card transactions, That Snap Life gives sales proceeds back to KAB through Process Green. Beyond raising funds for a good cause, this cause-marketing partnership informs and inspires people to become a part of the #fit4prevention breast cancer prevention movement by going #nofilter this Halloween.
Love them or loathe them, filters are here to stay, and we’re challenging you to put them to good use! Post your “breast” #nofilter fitness look on social media and share with others why going #fit and #nofilter is important to you!
